Docsly is built on a principle of Data Minimization. We do not want your data. Our architecture is designed to process your files without ever storing them permanently.

1. Data Retention & Auto-Deletion

• Volatile Memory (RAM): Files are primarily processed in isolated serverless function memory. Once the process completes, the memory is cleared.
• Temporary Storage: Large files may briefly touch a secure, ephemeral temporary directory (`/tmp`) during processing.
• Auto-Deletion: We have configured our infrastructure to automatically purge these temporary files immediately upon request completion. In the rare event of a process failure, automated cron jobs ensure any residual data is strictly deleted within 1 hour.

2. Infrastructure & Security

Your data is processed in secure data centers managed by Vercel (AWS us-east-1 / us-west-1).

• Encryption in Transit: All file uploads and downloads are encrypted using 256-bit SSL/TLS (Transport Layer Security).
• Isolation: Each processing request runs in an isolated environment, preventing data leakage between users.

3. Third-Party Services & Ads

We use trusted third-party services to keep Docsly free. We never share your uploaded files with these parties.

• Google AdSense: We display ads to cover server costs. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
• Opt-Out: Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We differentiate between Essential Local Storage (on-device data) and Third-Party Cookies.

• Local Storage (Essential): We use your browser's Local Storage to save your Theme Preference (Dark/Light mode) and Consent Status (GDPR choices). This data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
• Cookies (Third-Party): Google AdSense uses cookies to serve personalized ads and cap frequency. These track usage across sites but do NOT have access to your uploaded files.

5. GDPR & User Rights

Although we do not store personal data, you retain the right to request information about your data processing. Since we operate on a "no-logs" basis, we typically have no data to provide or delete, as it is already gone.
